Mental Health support for infertility

Infertility can be an emotionally and physically challenging experience, often marked by a sense of loss, frustration, and uncertainty. For many individuals and couples, the journey toward building a family doesn’t unfold as expected, leading to feelings of isolation and sadness.

Although infertility can be an incredibly difficult and isolating experience, it’s important to remember that the emotions and challenges faced are valid. Seeking counselling support can help ease some of the emotional burden and can provide a safe space to process the complex feelings including one’s deepest fears and frustrations that come with infertility.

Fertility counseling is designed to support individuals or couples who are navigating challenges or have concerns at any stage of their fertility journey. It is not a requirement to begin specific protocols or treatments in order to engage in fertility counseling

Your first 5 Sessions with me may look like…
  1. Session One: We’ll begin by discussing your expectations, fears, and the stressors or anxieties related to fertility treatments and the decision-making process.
  2. Session Two: In this session, we’ll explore the complex emotions of anger, sadness, disappointment, and grief—often invisible or misunderstood by others. Exploration of grief can include past losses, unsuccessful outcomes, and the grief of a different path to parenthood than what one imagined.
  3. Session Three: Focus on identifying your personal needs, building self-care practices, and finding your voice to empower yourself. We’ll also discuss what setting healthy boundaries that support your well-being could look like.
  4. Session Four: Fertility struggles can strain even the closest relationships. This session is designed for you to come in together with a partner or support person to share your experiences and foster understanding. We’ll focus on advocating for your needs, recognizing differences in coping styles, exploring shared strategies, and improving communication.
  5. Session Five: In this session we will discuss and develop personalised coping strategies for managing before, between and after treatments including the two-week waiting period, tests, and procedures.
