The Therapy Collective

Welcome,

Hi, I’m Niamh Lloyd.

I’m so glad you’re here! I know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big and sometimes scary step, whether you’re a parent looking for support for your child or a young person starting your own journey. In therapy, I offer a space that honours each person’s unique way of thinking, feeling, and being. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I believe that every individual already has the capacity for growth and resilience. My role is to help you uncover those strengths, explore what’s been getting in the way, and work together toward meaningful change.

Much of my work centres around...

Children & Teens: Big emotions, Behavioural challenges, School stress, Difficulty opening up

Neurodiversity (ADHD & Autism): Impulsivity, Emotional regulation, Executive functioning,  social skills

Anxiety & Panic: Racing thoughts, “What if” worries, Physical symptoms, Fear of losing control

Perfectionism & Self-Esteem: Fear of mistakes, Harsh self-talk, Pressure to please others, Low confidence

Depression & Suicidality: Withdrawal, Hopelessness, Overwhelm, Difficulty finding motivation

Stress Management: Overthinking, Feeling constantly “on edge,” Trouble relaxing or sleeping

School Difficulties: Avoidance, Focus challenges, Procrastination, Test anxiety

Play Therapy: Using creativity and play to explore emotions, build coping skills, and foster connection

A little bit more about me...

I am passionate about supporting children and teenagers as they navigate emotional, behavioural, and social challenges. I have extensive experience working with neurodiverse youth, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, school difficulties, and challenges with coping and stress management.

I prioritize a warm, collaborative, and compassionate approach that emphasizes creating a safe and accepting environment where children and teens can explore their thoughts, build emotional resilience, and strengthen self-confidence. I believe in meeting every person where they are and working together to help them thrive — at home, in school, and in their relationships.

I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and person-centred and strengths-based approaches. I am currently completing training towards my Play Therapy Certification and practicing play therapy under clinical supervision. Additionally, I am registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), which qualifies me to practice the controlled act of psychotherapy under supervision in Ontario.

I THINK WE’D BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU’RE STRUGGLING WITH …

Children & Teen Neurodiversity:

I provide specialized support for children and teens with ADHD and ASD, helping them understand how their brains work and develop tools to thrive at school, home, and with peers. Using strengths-based and play-informed approaches, I focus on building self-awareness, emotional regulation, and executive functioning skills, while supporting parents in creating environments that foster connection and success.

Perfectionism & Self-Esteem

I help children and teens who struggle with perfectionism, self-criticism, and low self-esteem learn to approach challenges with self-compassion and flexibility. Through engaging, therapeutic activities, I guide them in building confidence, embracing mistakes as part of learning, and developing a kinder inner voice, supporting a more balanced and positive sense of self.

Mood: Anxiety & Depression

I support children and teens experiencing anxiety and depression, helping them better understand their emotions and learn healthy ways to cope with stress, fear, and sadness. Through creative and developmentally appropriate strategies, I work to reduce avoidance, increase emotional resilience, and restore a sense of calm, confidence, and hope in their daily lives.
