Support for Trauma & PTSD

Trauma can linger in the body and mind long after an experience has passed. You may notice feeling on edge, easily overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself or others. Memories, triggers, or sudden waves of emotion can surface unexpectedly, making everyday life feel unpredictable, exhausting, or unsafe. Work, relationships, and daily responsibilities can begin to feel harder than they should, leaving you tense, guarded, or simply worn down.

Our specialized trauma therapy for adults offers a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly, feel understood, and begin to make sense of what you have been carrying. Together, we move gently and at a pace that feels safe, building practical tools to regulate your nervous system, process difficult experiences, and reduce the intensity of triggers. The focus is not on reliving the past, but on helping you feel more grounded, steady, and in control in the present.

We meet you where you are. Whether your trauma feels recent or something you have lived with for years, our work centers on restoring a sense of safety, connection, and trust in yourself and your life. With compassionate, evidence based, trauma informed care, we support you in creating lasting change so each day feels calmer, steadier, and more manageable.

Has it started to feel like your body stays on alert, your past feels close to the surface, or everyday life takes more energy than it should?

Our approach

Trauma can affect both the mind and the body. Even when life looks “fine” on the outside, you may feel tense, guarded, easily triggered, or disconnected within yourself. Memories, sensations, or emotions can surface unexpectedly, making it hard to fully relax, trust, or feel safe in your day to day life.

We offer a safe, steady, and non-judgmental space where you can slow down and feel supported at your own pace. Our therapists combine genuine care with evidence based, trauma informed practices, creating an environment where trust can grow and healing feels possible. You are always in control of the process, and we move only as quickly as feels right for you.

Our work integrates several well researched approaches for trauma and PTSD. Depending on your needs, therapy may include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and gradual in vivo exposure to reduce triggers and avoidance. We also incorporate Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills and Behavioural Activation to strengthen emotional regulation, coping, and daily functioning.

Because trauma is held in the nervous system as well as the mind, we integrate somatic based psychotherapy to help you reconnect with your body, build safety from the inside out, and gently release stored tension. Together, we focus on practical tools that help you feel more grounded, present, and empowered in everyday life.

Through our work, you will learn to:

• Regulate your nervous system and reduce overwhelm
• Process difficult memories at a pace that feels safe
• Lessen triggers, flashbacks, and avoidance
• Challenge unhelpful beliefs shaped by trauma
• Strengthen coping and emotional regulation skills
• Reconnect with your body, relationships, and daily life
• Feel safer, steadier, and more in control

Our goal is not to relive the past, but to help you move forward with greater confidence, stability, and a renewed sense of safety in yourself and the world.
